Festival of Praise

Saturday
March 9, 2019

7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Jesus – A Friend for YOU!

Jesus is Lord! Saying Jesus is our friend sounds a bit too friendly or too informal. But, understanding what a friend is and what being a friend truly means brings clarity to the concept. We may have many acquaintances we call friends, however, Jesus calling us friends has a much deeper meaning.

Come join all your friends as we sing, pray and worship our truest friend. Our Praise Band provides beautiful, motivational music as our voices blend together as one song of praise. Farther Chris Mannerino, currently serving as Parochial Vicar at the Hampton/Richland parish group will join us as presider and speaker. Father Chris has a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Our Lady, and the Holy Souls in Purgatory.

Visit the Festival of Praise page in the Catholic Community of South Pittsburgh website where there is information about this month’s speaker, videos from previous celebrations and the Praise Band’s repertoire.

March for Life

Friday, January 18, 2019

Washington DC

Deacon Tim is organizing a bus trip for the 2019 March for Life, which will take place on Friday, January 18th in Washington, DC. Since the 1973 Supreme Court cases, Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, which legalized abortion-on-demand in our country, over 60 million lives have been lost to abortion. Ending abortions and promoting a culture of life is why we march each year.

Deacon Tim is trying to determine which size bus to reserve for our group. If you are interested in joining us, please send an email to deacontim@verizon.net.

If you cannot join us, please pray for our safety on the trip and for the end to abortion. “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless.” – Dietrich Bonhoeffer
